NOTE : Installing our distribution from this directory is not very hard, but it's not trivial, and it requires some understanding of the tools involved. I encourage you to read up on them and practice a bit before doing this stuff. You will need 3 tools : 1) 7-zip (http://www.7-zip.org/) : Go and download it for your platform 2) Clonezilla (http://clonezilla.org/) : There is one bootable ISO in this directory which you can use. 3) GParted LiveCD (or any other tool that lets your resize an partition of the type EXT4) : There is one bootable ISO in this directory which you can use. Unzip the file 7z file to a directory / media where your Clonezilla will be able to access it This should give you a directory called : XXXX-XX-XX-XX-buildXXX-user (or a different date / build number in the future) If you are one of our assemblers, get a machine with the same disk you will be using for your replication. If you are one of your users, just use your machine. Launch Clonezilla to restore the disk : - Configure keyboard - Run "Start_Clonezilla" - Select "device-image" - Chose whatever means gets you to the directory (I use local_dev then my USB key where it is stored) - Select Beginner Mode - Select restoredisk - Chose the XXXX-XX-XX-XX-buildXXX-user file you extracted - Select the hard disk you want to restore to (probably your master HD that you will then clone) - Accept all further prompts with either [ENTER] or Yes When finished, shutdown the machine from the Clonezilla menus Now boot the partition management tool LiveCD and resize : - The the first partition (swap) so that it is the same size as your machine's RAM (if you you are preparing as one of our OEMs, or if you don't know how much RAM you will have, resize for 16GB just in case people ask for RAM options). - The 2nd partition (ext4) to start right after the end of the first one fill the whole disk. Typically, how I do this is first click on the 2nd (ext4) partition and move it right significantly. Then click on the first (swap) partition and resize it, then click again on the 2nd (ext4) partition and move it right so that it touches the end of the first (swap) partition. Then click apply. This takes a long time (several minutes). When that operation is done, halt the machine once again You now have a hard disk that is customer ready and fills the whole device you will need to clone if you are our assembler. Should you need to change model / geometry / size of the target disks, you need to start this process over. If you are one of our users, you can reboot now and will be prompted with all the questions of a new machine starting.
